Enhancing livestock marketing through the use of mobile applications for the Eiseb Community
The integration of digital technology within the agriculture sector presents significant opportunities for economic enhancement, employment creation, and poverty alleviation. Despite these advancements, communal farmers in the Eiseb community of Namibia face substantial challenges in accessing livestock markets due to lack of livestock marketing mechanisms. This research aims to address the issues of livestock marketing by developing a mobile application tailored to the needs of the Eiseb community, facilitating better market participation and information sharing. The main objective is to empower the Eiseb community by enhancing their livestock marketing practices through a co-designed mobile application. This research will investigate the current level of livestock marketing knowledge, co-design the mobile application with community input, and explore its impact on market participation and information dissemination.
