This research comprises of Co-design sessions with indigenous communities which often struggle to bridge the emotional gap between researchers and participants, hindering communication and collaboration. This study proposes to address this issue by exploring the application of AI-powered sentiment analysis tools in co-design sessions within the Ovahimba community in Namibia. Focusing on cultural sensitivity, the project will co-design these tools with the community to accurately identify and understand emotional responses during sessions. This research aims to enhance communication, strengthen mutual understanding, and lead to more productive co-design sesions. By integrating AI into co-design practices, this study strives to empower indigenous communities and create more inclusive research processes.
