Enhancing livestock marketing through the use of mobile applications for the Eiseb Community
This research outlines the transformative potential of digital technology in the agricultural sector, particularly focusing on improving market access and information sharing for farmers within the Eiseb Community. However, there exists a significant gap in efficient livestock marketing mechanisms, hindering economic prosperity. To address this challenge, the Info Range research project is proposed, aiming to bridge these gaps through interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of a tailored mobile application for the Eiseb community. Key research questions and objectives are set forth to assess knowledge gaps, understand community needs, and evaluate the impact of the mobile application. Acknowledging the project limitations, the project sets the stage for a comprehensive exploration of these issues, emphasizing the importance of empowering rural communities with digital tools for livestock marketing.
